Start Here: What Are Inner Aftershocks?

May 22, 2026

Some people do not feel comfortable using a clinical label right away. They may not know whether what they are experiencing is PTSD, anxiety, grief, burnout, spiritual distress, survival stress, or something else.

SolaceCompass uses the phrase Inner Aftershocks as a gentle doorway. It describes the experience of still feeling shaken, guarded, numb, restless, jumpy, avoidant, or not fully yourself after difficult, frightening, painful, or overwhelming experiences.

You do not need a diagnosis to begin with grounding.

SolaceCompass resources are designed to support reflection, emotional steadiness, creativity, and practical self-support. They do not diagnose, treat, cure, or replace professional care. If your experiences are intense, persistent, frightening, or affecting daily life, consider using these resources alongside support from a qualified professional.
